My Husband and I Made a Final Decision About Having a Third Kid
Hey, remember how we just got two kittens?
Some regular Pomegranate readers may remember a few months back I wrote a piece about how I wanted a third kid, but my husband was not on board. Well, you’ll be happy to know that I’m here with an update for you, because my husband and I have finally made a decision on the matter, which basically boiled down to: vasectomy or third baby? One, a routine outpatient procedure that would result in us actually maybe being able to pay for our children’s college education, and the other, 18 years plus nine months of a new person, who absolutely cannot go to college and will have to sleep in a walk-in closet.
Now, you might be thinking, didn’t the Huber-[REDACTED] Family (my husband and children do not share my last name but I won’t be giving you THAT info so you can hack into my bank account, thank you very much) just adopt two kittens? Surely they wouldn’t be stupid enough to add a baby to the mix, bringing the grand total of living things in their house to 5 humans, 3 cats, and one very hearty tetra fish who refuses to die. But then you also might be thinking, I’ve read a lot of Lucy’s writing and followed her on Twitter/BlueSky/Threads for many years and she does seem kind of stupid. You’d be correct on both accounts.
So what was our conclusion? 😈
